Prenatal Chiropractic Care

During pregnancy a woman’s body will change in order to accommodate the growing child and also prepare for his/her decent through the birth canal. As the unborn is growing, and mom is gaining weight, the pelvic structures are shifting and changing, often loosening a bit for the pending decent and ultimate birth. The baby needs all the room he/she needs to grow and  to get into the proper position for birth.

This is a natural process, but can and usually does, cause some imbalances in the pelvis. Moms commonly complain of sciatica, back pain, leg pain and fatigue, especially as the pregnancy progresses. Chiropractic care can alleviate the pain at best and can also help manage some of these temporary changes and symptoms.

Many mom’s have shared with us that regular chiropractic care during pregnancy, not only helps them feel better but also the  labor and the birth process can be a little easier and shorter as well.

“For pregnant women, we have a table by which the piece under the stomach is released so moms may stay on their stomach during that portion of the adjustment. They love it!! No other place allows them to be on their stomach during the 9 months”

Pediatric Chiropractic Care

In recent years, the positive news surrounding chiropractic care for children has been overwhelming. Research studies and positive testimonials from patients and children have confirmed the benefits of chiropractic treatment for children. More and more parents are finding the benefits of having their children receive regular spinal checkups and chiropractic adjustments as needed. By aligning the spine correctly, the nervous system is restored to full functioning abilities – boosting the immune system, preventing diseases and increasing a child’s overall well being.

Dr. Dreicer, in her practice, uses a gentle non-force approach in making adjustments. Her particular techniques of chiropractic dovetail perfectly with the needs of children. There are no startling, jarring movements; every movement flows naturally. Dr. Dreicer has a special relationship with her pediatric patients and the kids love the child-friendly atmosphere in the office. Dr. Dreicer has found that kids have a natural intuitiveness and connectedness with themselves and their bodies. Once they get used to pain-free, shot-free chiropractic, they look forward to getting the adjustment. Over and over, Dr. Dreicer hears from parents that their children requested on their own to come in to see her. You don’t often hear children clamoring to see health care professionals.

Once a child is born, pediatric care can start almost immediately to treat the stress caused to the spinal column and nervous system by delivery using gently contact to realign the spine. As children grow in the first years of life, the spinal column develops rapidly. Children can experience not only  spinal injuries, but also for minor subtle ones that we hardly even notice.  Parents bring their children in for the usual falls and slips, rough play, playground and sports injuries, and carrying far too heavy book bags.

But parents also bring in children for care of various childhood conditions such as colds, sore throats, ear infections, and stomach aches as well. Conditions that can be improved by chiropractic care include asthma, sleep disturbances, allergies, and colic, among others. Dr. Dreicer has been adjusting children since she graduated from chiropractic college. Children have been an integral part of her practice. Over the years, she has developed a wealth of clinical experience. Kids have flexible, delicate spines and can find themselves with imbalances just like adults. Fortunately, children often need fewer chiropractic visits because the pliable, resilient pediatric spine responds and heals much more quickly than an adult’s more rigid spine.
