Energy Medicine

“At the very center of our being is rhythmic movement, a cyclic expansion and contraction that is both in our body and outside it, that is both in our mind and in our body, that is both in our consciousness and not in it.”
Rollin Becker, DO

Energy medicine, energy therapy or energy healing is under the umbrella of complementary and alternative medicine. At Dreicer Chiropractic Center, Dr.Dreicer also utilizes some forms of energy medicine as an adjunct in helping her patients achieve optimal well being. Over the past many years, there have been various practitioners and healers that have utilized unconventional tools to effectuate a shift in health and well being. Some examples include, Therapeutic Touch,  NAET, Emotional Release Techniques,  Acupuncture, The Reconnection,  Reconnective Healing,  Reiki and many more.

The theory is that ” a healer” can channel healing energy to awaken one’s own innate healing and hence assist in the managing of ones physical concerns. While there is more and more  promising research currently being done  in this area, most accounts are still anecdotal.

There have been healers that have not only used their hands during a session where the patient is in the same physical space, but there are also healers who do distant or remote healing as well. These patients are in different locations while the healer is in another location.  The patients who have received remote or distant healing othen state that they notice a shift in their energy field.

“Energy medicine is both a complement to other approaches to medical care and a complete system for self-care and self-help. It can address physical illness and emotional or mental disorders, and can also promote high-level wellness and peak performance.

You can heal the body by activating its natural healing energies and  you also heal the body by restoring energies that have become weak, disturbed,  or out of balance.

In order to accomplish this goal, energy medicine utilizes techniques from healing traditions such as acupuncture, yoga, kinesiology, and qi gong. Flow, balance, and harmony can be non-invasively restored and maintained within an energy system by tapping, massaging,  pinching, twisting, or connecting specific energy points (acupoints) on the skin; by tracing or swirling the hand over the skin along specific energy pathways; through exercises or postures designed for specific energetic effects;  by focused use of the mind to move specific energies; and/or by surrounding an area with healing energies (one person’s energies impacts another’s).

Energy medicine can be used to relieve pain; manage the onset of illness as soon as it begins,  stimulate immune function, relieve headaches, release stress,  improve memory,  enhance digestion, relieve arthritis,  neck, shoulder,  and low back pain, and cope with electromagnetic pollution”

“We don’t want to suggest that any tool is a panacea, but rather another alternative approach which can help balance the body naturally and  healthfully. The non-invasive, gentle approach is becoming more and more appealing to the masses”
